DAVE  BURKE
COMEDIAN

CAPTAIN COOK WAS BORN IN YORKSHIRE AND SO WAS DAVE BURKE.

BOTH DISCOVERED ONE OF THE GREATEST COUNTRIES IN THE WORLD - AUSTRALIA

BUT ONLY ONE STAYED!

At the raw and tender age of 17, in the clubs and dance halls of the North of England Dave worked with his own pop show band. He played a mean clarinet and wasn't at all shy about showing his vocal range.

Yet the urge to go as a solo comedian led him to emigrate to now his first love Australia and leave his band in 1966 and go on a solo career (along with a promising Rugby League career with Halifax RLFC).  Being a solid reliable and talented prop forward, the club was anxious to keep his services, however life in showbiz was to rule his conscious state of mind.  Learning the ropes of being a comedian wasn't always easy, often compared with his stint in the RAF in Aden in the Middle East.

Dave’s key to making the audience laugh is simply to talk about his interesting life growing up and even into today’s modern World.  He talks about life and events that every audience can relate to.  Hearing people say “I laughed until I cried; is a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow that every comedian searches for and Dave always finds the pot.

Now based in Sydney Dave is in great demand for corporate and MC gigs as well as constantly doing World cruises with P&O and Princess lines.  He also now brings music into his presentation with a few good ‘belters’ on clarinet which gets any room swinging with ‘COMEDY AND MUSIC’.
